Richmond Ice Cream get some R&R…

Richmond Ice Cream, the fastest growing manufacturer in the impulse sector of the UK Ice Cream market , is pleased to announce a name change to Richmond & Roncadin Ice Cream (R&R) with immediate effect.

The buyout by American investment company Oaktree last year, meant the company merging with the biggest German own label ice cream manufacturer Roncadin, the new joint company will form R&R ice cream, creating the largest ice cream manufacturer in Europe.

Richmond produces Nestlé ice cream, the most well known brand being Fab, the UK’s number one ice lolly which celebrates its 40th birthday this year. Also in the range are famous brand choc products such as Smarties, Rolo and After Eight.

Growing at one and a half times faster than the Take Home Market at 15.3% year on year , Richmond’s current growth is attributed to strong performances from firm favourites such as Fab, Ribena Ice and Rowntrees Fruit Pastil lolly, and recent innovations such as the Skinny Cow range. The NEW Fruitcrunch bars and the continued success of the family fun tubs range, which now includes Fab and Milkybar, will help further strengthen total sales for the ice cream manufacturer.

James Lambert, Group CEO of R&R for the European and UK Ice Cream Board, comments, “This name change takes place at an exciting time for Richmond. We have seen phenomenal growth over the last year and now as R&R, we can further develop our brands and product development to become a key player in the European Ice Cream market.”
