R&R Ice Cream’s NPD expertise acknowledged
R & R Ice Cream has added to its impressive haul of 30 trophies at the annual British Frozen Food Federation awards – the “Oscars” of the frozen food industry – with three further accolades at the 2009 event.
The firm’s products swept the board in the Best New Ice Cream/Ice Cream Dessert category winning gold, silver and bronze. Thorntons Toffee Temptation Stick took the gold award, Thorntons Ice Cream dessert grabbed the silver and the Nestle Smarties Party Ice Cream product was awarded bronze.
Mike Fraine, sales director, said: “This was another very successful evening for R&R Ice Cream. It is also a strong endorsement of our NPD capabilities when we achieve a clean sweep in the new products category.
“In addition, the winners are chosen by panels of consumers – not judges. The products are marked on a range of criteria such as appearance, taste, innovation, packaging, likelihood of purchase and value for money. The BFFF Retail Awards clearly represent ‘the people’s choice’ and that makes winning them even more satisfying.”
